Did you know that the iconic 1950’s actor, James Dean, will be starring in a movie 64 years after his death? It’s a controversial topic, but it’s now possible thanks to advancements in CGI technology!
With 2020 only a few weeks away, it’s no doubt that the technological evolution is endless, allowing multiple tasks to be completed with ease and making the impossible become the tangible. It’s astounding that there are now watches that will sense if you’ve had a large fall during a hike and will instantly alert emergency services and contacts. It’s revolutionary that there are now cars advanced enough to have self-driving capabilities.
So it’s only ideal to ensure that we are leveraging these changes to optimise everyday life, whether it is for work, home or school.
There are over 2.2 million applications in the Apple App Store alone, all with different functionalities and benefits that many are not aware of. To help with the new year, I have provided my top 4 favourite applications that may help in making your life easier one way or another:
1. Park Patrol – If you’re like me and love to drive, but absolutely DREAD the thought of having to move your car every 2 hours to avoid a ridiculous parking fine, this would be a helpful secret tool. It is a parking reminder and community app that provides alerts for the presence of parking rangers submitted by other users of the app in your area. Not only will you be able to check from your building if there are rangers chalking up your car, but you will also be able to contribute to the community and know that you may have helped another fellow stranger from receiving a parking fine!
2. Trello – This application provides a platform for creating to do lists in Kanban-style, that can be synchronised between your phone and desktop application. This is perfect for students or employees that find themselves having to multi-task and work on multiple projects. Incorporating all your to-do lists under one application will aid in your organisation, as well as reduce stress levels obtained from convoluted to-do lists.
3. Beem It – This provides a secure platform that allows anyone to transfer INSTANTLY to and from any Australian Bank Account. Gone are the days of having to wait 2-5 business days for that $30 bank transfer from your Westpac account to your friend’s Commonwealth Bank account.
4. Canva – This billion dollar platform allows almost anyone to create graphic design content through a simple drag-and-drop interface. With this, you will be able to create high quality projects such as presentations, invitations and brochures without the stress of learning Adobe Photoshop.
Now that’s only 4 out of the millions of applications and softwares out there. Just imagine the benefits you can take advantage of, the levels you may be able to reach if you explore and adapt on what this era has to offer.
